These chairs look and feel exactly as I expected. Most of the metal parts are matte with only a slight texture. The color is a pure black. They are very lightweight, so they're easy for kids to use. The chairs are sturdy, and the seats are flat. We move them to the kitchen when the kids need to reach high cabinets. As metal chairs, they are comfortable and fit my size (I'm petite/medium). They might be a little small for taller or larger people, but they're exactly what we need for us. Because they're so lightweight, we also take them outside to use by the pool when we have guests. The only slightly odd thing is that the seats are about an inch lower than our other dining chairs (closer to the ground). It felt a little low at first, but we've gotten used to it. Actually, it might be better this way, as the feet are closer to the ground and the face is closer to the table. Highly recommended!

If you have some assembly knowledge, these chairs are quite easy to assemble. The instructions are clear and include diagrams. Each part is labeled with a letter, corresponding to the steps in the instructions. My only suggestion is to use better tools. I used an electric drill, and the drill bit fit perfectly into the screw holes that would normally be tightened with a hex wrench. I also used a ratchet wrench and two sprocket wrenches instead of the wrenches provided in the instructions to tighten the bolts, as this allowed me to better grip the nuts and tighten them thoroughly. The instructions also suggest tapping some bolts with a rubber mallet. The chairs are very comfortable and look very sturdy. I like their weight. They move easily around my patio and won't be blown over by the wind. Excellent value for money.

The chair is of excellent quality. Assembly was also very simple. The first time, I used a manual screwdriver without any problems; the second time, using an electric screwdriver, I immediately broke one screw. Needless to say, I haven't used the electric screwdriver since, and I haven't encountered any problems since. We're both over seventy years old, and assembling it was easy for us, so there's no need to worry. As for durability, I can't say for sure, but judging from the quality, it should last many years in desert areas. I suspect the "powder coating" process might have caused the screws to malfunction during assembly. Just loosen them slightly when they feel a little tight and continue tightening.
