This is perfect for anyone who wants just a mild massage with a little added warmth (not heat) across your back. It mostly buzzes in pulses, and it rotates through different patterns, and has different pattern modes to select. Nice thick foam mat that is pretty much full body length (depends on your height). In one picture I added red circles around the spots where you will feel the pulses of the massage. There is a strap under the headrest so you can strap it to a chair, as well as a strap under the seat area to strap around a chair seat. Which when using on a couch I wasn't able to strap it to the seat part, but could strap it to the headrest. I found it difficult to get the neck massage area in the right location to actually massage my neck, it only got to the upper part of my shoulders with the other massage points in reasonable locations throughout the rest of the mat. I'm 5'10", so if I were shorter perhaps the neck massage points would actually be at my neck. The heat part really isn't heat, just some comfortable warmth. I like real heat with my massage if possible, but this is enough to take the chill off you, but nothing more. Again, a good low, non-adjustable heat for anyone who may need to be careful of heat. This also makes some fun and interesting buzzing, beat sounds. Reminded me of someone doing hip hop beats by mouth. So that was fun. I do enjoy this massage mat for general relaxation. But for real massage needs I use shiatsu type massagers with the hard nodes, or the hand held massage guns with the different attachments to really get some deep massaging done. But not everyone can or should use such aggressive massagers so this full body massaging mat is perfect for sensitive or delicate individuals, and/or anyone wanting a gentle massage for general relaxation. This can be used in various locations and positions - sitting or laying down. I like it the best a little reclined sitting on the couch relaxing. The remote is wired to it and is large and easy to use. There is a sewn on pouch to store the remote in. The power supply cord is fairly long, and I had to run it behind the mat as the remote is located on the left side of the mat. You can control what massage points operate and select one at a time or use the pre-set modes to select a course of massage variations. There is also an intensity setting, which I have to set to high to really feel much more than an mild buzzing sensation. All in all it is a good value at about $70 (2/21) and very well worth it for anyone needing some massaging to get circulation going, but without worry of harming anyone.
