Display rack price discount
12/28/2024We bought two of these bookshelves to block off our blinds from our dogs and to give us space to display family photos and collectibles. These bookshelves are easy to assemble and look great in front of a window. There is plenty of room to display items and the sturdy back also blocks our dogs from seeing and bothering us when we are out. The only issue we had was that the screw holes for the last shelf on one of the shelves were not fully punched through. While this was an easy fix, it was a bit inconvenient. These bookshelves are a great value for money compared to other options we considered. The bookshelves were nicely and protectively packaged and came with clear assembly instructions. The body of the shelves is made of compressed wood fiber with a wood grain pattern and a faux wood finish. The legs are cheap plastic so they are not suitable for placing heavy items on them. The bookshelves come with stabilizing straps to prevent tipping over. Our floors are not perfectly level so we might consider buying some leveling feet from a hardware store but overall we are very happy with the product we received.
Looks good, good quality, and the price is right
12/04/2023Considering the price, this bookcase is a great buy. The box is very compact and took me about 20 minutes to assemble. The main panel is not wood, but looks like a durable vinyl finish. The feet are lightweight molded plastic. The hardware is very complete, and there is even a basic screwdriver for those who don't have one. Once assembled, the bookcase is very light and stable when rocked from side to side. It does have the risk of tipping over if it rocks back and forth, though - I recommend using wall anchors if you have children or if the bookcase is placed in an area where it is prone to bumping. The plastic feet do not have any rubber or felt on the bottom, and they are not adjustable for leveling. You may need to use shims for stability. Do not over-tighten the screws on the feet, as this can damage the mounting holes. If there is a weak point, it is the feet. When moving the unit, do not apply any pressure or force to the feet other than pressing from top to bottom. Again, do not over-tighten the screws. The screws holding the "wood" panel are the right length, but they stick out a little when tightened. I did not tighten the screws further for fear of stripping or damaging the panel. It's only a little bit, but it's there. With books and a few items in it, it will be more stable due to the extra weight - if it's not secured, be careful about the weight distribution, a top-heavy design will make it more likely to tip over. This is a great looking piece of furniture and a good value for the price. Furniture is expensive these days. It's not the kind of furniture that will last for decades, but it will withstand daily use and some wear and tear.
