This is the stable step that I needed. Its length, width, and adjustable heights are perfect for my workouts. I was using a very unstable step stool before, making due with what I had. I do not regret spending a little bit of money to invest in this piece of workout equipment!

difficult to adjust the height. once the feet click into place at maximum height 9 inch, it will take a long , long tool to reach the release clips, way up inside . ( i have never been able to re-adjust the height ,...forever at 9 inches ) stair stepping , a budget stair master . to increase stair stepping intensity hold 2 dumbels arms extened downwards. i use Two 12 pound dumbels ( 24 pounds total ) choose the weight appropriate for you. as another excercise, i do over head presses using the above dumbels to simulate mountain climbing ( both Pressed up at the same time as i am stepping up ) and back down to chest height . i rotate stepping. right leg first, for 20 steps, then left leg first , for 20 steps or for however many steps you want to do . watch a movie while stepping .

This is an awful product. The plastic edges made of a cheap plastic about as thick as a paper plate are higher than the legs so they drag on the floor. Besides making an awful sound like finger nail scratching on the blackboard, it chipped the first week. Returned it and bought a different brand.

The product is a sturdy hard plastic. The adjustments for height are not intuitive. There were no instructions included in the package. I can figure out 5" and 7" settings; however, no clue how to raise to 9:.
