9000 BTU(Ashrae) Portable Air Conditioner with Fan and Dehumidifier

For the first few days I noticed a smell in my apartment and thought it was a burst pipe in another apartment bc it smelled like sewage but after some experimenting I noticed it was the AC and so I drained both the ports which by the way was tricky and the top port has a major design flaw, the reserve I assume is very small because it didnt have much in the drain to drain but I noticed if I have it on a platform of sorts and leave the bottom drain stopper out with a bowl or bucket underneath for constant drainage then the smell goes away and it works fine. So if anyone buys this and notices a smell it's not ur apartment it's the water system in the AC other than that it works wonderfully but I don't know how the dehumidifier feature works and with a small reserve I don't know if I want to find out.

This is our second summer using these portable AC units. We bought two. One for upstairs master bedroom and one for downstairs living room. We live in New England and don't have central AC. This is my first time living in a home without central AC. These units are great for those New England days that get into the upper 80's and 90's. So they don't get run that often. Probably less than 30 days per year and only a few hours on those days. The only reason I give it 4 stars is because the units are quirky. Turning on the power button somehow kicked one into "Dehumidifying" mode instead of staying in "Cool" mode. And somehow, I have locked the controls for the upstairs one. It only turns on with the remote instead of being able to use the power button on the machine itself. I probably hit the wrong sequence of buttons. I need to check the manual again. Overall, very pleased!

This is such a high powered portable air conditioner unit. I bought this unit for my mother who lives in a 2 bedroom trailer and her central AC stopped working and we needed a large capacity AC that would work to cool her place down in this north carolina heat. The installation was super easy and everything to install is included. This air conditioning unit is very high powered. It has an LCD display and is very easy for my mom to use. It also has a 24 hour timer and a remote control so that she can operate without getting up. It is very energy efficient so it will not cost her much to run it. It puts out 10,000 BTU so it really does pack a punch. It has washable/reusable filters so no need to waste money. It also has fan and dehumidifier settings. Very pleased and highly recommend this AC.

I'm worried that it is difficult to install, but I were wrong. It is very easy to install with any kind of windows. However, it needs some small pieces of woods or cartons to fill up the space so that the air cannot go through outside. The air conditioner is quiet and cover up a large space. My room is about 25sqft, it makes air cool very fast.
