    The humidity in our apartment was staying about 67-68% and clothes and bed linens always felt clammy. After researching, we chose to go with this 4,500 sq ft unit. When we received it, as per instructions, we let the unit sit upright on a flat surface for 24 hours. We then turned it on and within 12 hours the humidity dropped from 67% to a comfortable 50%. This unit has been been running almost continually for the past 5 weeks without any problems. I would definitely recommend this.

    my ranch home is about 1700 sq ft, The units for them have only about a half gallon tank. This 4500 sq ft unit has a one and a half gallon tank. Price wise a 1700 unit is almost the same price . I am trying to dehumidify the whole house not just a room. Is the 4500 sq ft unit going to be over kill or not work as efficiently or work better. Not sure on this.
