So glad I ordered this umbrella. It works great and saves me from having to lift and move a heavy base.

bought this stand about a year ago. It was very easy to assemble. The empty stand is very light and has locking wheels for easy movement around the patio. We filled it with water the first summer but when it came time to store it for the winter we dumped the water out. It was difficult to get all the water out and it took a long time for the water to evaporate. This year we filled it with playground sand. Once filled with sand the base is very sturdy and holds up well to wind.

When filled with water, this umbrella base provides excellent support for a large patio umbrella, and the four wheels make it easy to move.

was a little concerned when it arrived because the box was so light. My concerns were quickly put to rest. This stand is very sturdy, and for the price, it was easy to assemble. The washers and bolts on the bottom are much more secure than other stands I've used, and the design seems more stable. It's easy to move around because it's hollow. I considered waterproofing, and while I'm not sure if it's freeze-proof, I keep my umbrella stored in the winter anyway, so it's not a big deal to dump the water out and put it back in. I've had pretty strong winds and haven't had any issues, but if I do, I can upgrade the filler to sand.

You can fill it with sand or water; I used water. The frame has brakes to prevent it from moving. My frame went on smoothly and the fasteners ensured that it barely moved. Since the fasteners don't snap directly into the holes of the umbrella, there is still a little wiggle, but fasteners may vary from umbrella to umbrella.
