Great, big cantilever umbrella
06/19/2023I was pleasantly surprised at how nice this umbrella was when we set it up since it was less expensive than I have seen else where. It is very large (11 x 13) and adequately covers the patio couch and chairs. So much better than my last one. Sturdy construction, but it is aluminum so use your judgement if in a windy area but definitely much better than our last one. Love the zipper pockets for the rods/poles. Makes it so much easier to put them in and not tare the pocket. I love how you can adjust the angle to assure shade depending on sun angle. Even though we don't really have use for the 360 spin of the umbrella, it is a very nice feature to have especially with the foot pedal to operate the motion. The only con, which are more words of caution, is that you need to have very heavy duty weights to avoid tipping on a windy day. We had 100 lb (total) weights and it did blow over once. We have to get additional weights to make sure that doesn't happen again as we live in a windy area. As of now I Love it and am very happy with this umbrella. Will update if anything changes.

07/24/2024Works great on the dock -Provides lots of shade and is very well made! Highly recommend! We have others ask where we got this amazing umbrella as well. Seems to be very wind tolerant as well.

- Q:What is the wind rating for the Umbrella? At what wind gusts should it be taken down? Assume a 100kg weight at baseA:It can withstand wind levels of 5-6. However, it is recommended to retract the umbrella in case of strong winds to prevent damage. For optimal safety, if you are using a base weight of 100kg, it is advisable to take the umbrella down during higher wind gusts to ensure its longevity and stability.

Costway representative - Q:I have this umbrella for about 1.5 years. Works perfectly even in moderate wind with heavy base plus sandbags on it. My problem is that recently the left holding arm, closest to the central pole, started to drop at a certain angle its sliding end. I can slide it back and hold while opening the umbrella until it does not slide out anymore. Yet it is uncomfortable since the opening arm must be rotated on the right side. Do you have a better idea for rectifying this problem?
