as with any threading tool, you must work it back and forth and use cutting oil... Work slow and keep the threads clear of debris and you will get perfect threads.. So far I've used it on blackpipe and galvanized pipe, while not as fast as an electric driven threader, it makes custom pipe sizes easy and a fraction of the cost of an equivalent product from rigid.
