Before attempting to assemble we went through each of the parts to make sure 1. There was no damage. And 2. That all the pieces were there. Some of the reviews said that was a problem, but we luckily had all the pieces in perfect condition despite the box looking like someone kicked it around. Assembly took us about 2 and a half hours, and the directions were not as difficult as everyone has said. That being said, it did come in a million pieces and requires ample patience. The piece is nice though, heavy, sturdy. The drawers are a little small
